Warranty
Warranty
INTRODUCTION
At LINDELLI we pride ourselves on crafting beautiful, ethical jewellery in our Sydney atelier and backing our work with transparent aftercare. Every piece is made to a high standard, but it is important to recognise that jewellery is both a product and a service. Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), goods and services sold in Australia automatically come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. These guarantees apply regardless of any voluntary warranty that we provide. Our warranty sits alongside these statutory rights and does not replace them.
Lifetime Manufacturing Guarantee
We guarantee that the structure of your LINDELLI jewellery will be free from manufacturing defects. This lifetime manufacturing warranty applies from the date of purchase to all gold and platinum jewellery crafted by us and supplements your rights under the ACL. If a manufacturing defect is found, we will repair the item at no cost.
What qualifies as a manufacturing defect
Manufacturing defects are issues inherent in the construction of jewellery.
- Examples include:
Porosity or surface blemishes in the metal discovered at the time of pick‑up or during a service. - Uneven or loose settings found at pick‑up or during servicing.
- Chips, scratches or nicks on stones that are present at pick‑up or appear during servicing because of workmanship.
- Rhodium plating stains visible at pick‑up or during servicing.
Most manufacturing defects become apparent within the first few months of wear. Any item found defective as a result of manufacturing will be repaired at no charge.
Wear and tear – not covered
- Everyday wear can cause gradual changes to jewellery. Our warranty does not cover damage, loss or deterioration arising from normal wear and tear, accidents or misuse. Examples of issues not covered include:
- Scratches, dents and abrasions on the metal caused by daily wear; metals are malleable and will show signs of use over time.
- Chips or cracks in gemstones resulting from knocks, impacts or exposure to harsh chemicals. Even hard stones such as diamonds and moissanite can chip if struck at certain angles.
- Pits or discolouration caused by exposure to corrosive substances (e.g., chlorine, bleach or heavy cleaning products) or cosmetics.
- Worn‑down prongs, claws or bands due to normal wear. Regular servicing is essential to identify and rectify such wear.
- Loss of gemstones due to damage or wear rather than a manufacturing fault. Stones exposed around their girdle, such as those in claw settings, are particularly susceptible.
Conditions that void the warranty
- Alterations by others: Repairs, resizing or modifications performed by any jeweller other than LINDELLI will void this warranty.
- Failure to service: If your piece has not received a scheduled annual service within the last 12 months, we may decline a warranty claim. Regular servicing by our workshop helps to detect issues before they become failures.
- Evidence of misuse: Jewellery that has been mistreated, exposed to chemicals or damaged through accident or abuse is not covered.
Making a Warranty Claim
If you believe your jewellery has a manufacturing issue, please follow these steps:
1.Contact us: Submit a claim through our website or contact our customer service team via phone or email. We will discuss the problem and advise on the next steps.
2. Return the item for assessment: Once arrangements have been made with our customer service team, you may drop your jewellery off at our Sydney atelier or return it via post under instruction. When posting, please include packing slip and proof of purchase. Securely wrap the jewellery in a protective shipping package with a copy of your invoice and your contact details.
3.Shipping deposit: A return shipping deposit is payable before assessment. Within Australia the two‑way postage fee is $40 AUD; international returns require a $200 AUD deposit. If we find the issue to be a manufacturing defect, this deposit will be refunded. If the problem is not covered by the warranty, the deposit will be used to cover return shipping.
4.Assessment: We will inspect the jewellery free of charge. If the issue is a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace the item at no cost and refund your deposit. If the issue is not covered, we will provide a repair quote for your approval. If you decline the repair, the pre‑paid deposit will cover the return postage.
Redesigns and Custom Work
Should you wish to redesign your piece, change the centre stone or adjust the design beyond standard resizing, we can discuss options by appointment. Redesigns and major modifications incur fees based on the work required. Any design or alteration carried out outside LINDELLI will void our warranty.
Insurance
Our warranty and after‑care services do not provide cover for loss, theft or damage caused by accidents. We recommend that clients insure their jewellery through their home and contents insurer or a specialist jewellery insurer to protect against unforeseen events.
Acceptance of Terms
By purchasing a LINDELLI piece or engaging us to provide services, clients acknowledge that they have read and accepted the terms of this Warranty & Aftercare Policy. These terms are subject to change; the current version is available on our website.

AFTERCARE SERVICE
AFTERCARE SERVICE
Aftercare Services
To ensure that your jewellery remains beautiful and functional, LINDELLI offers the following complimentary services:
- Professional cleaning: You may bring your piece to our Sydney workshop for free professional cleaning at any time. We use appropriate techniques to remove everyday build‑up without damaging gemstones or metal.
- One free resize (within six months): Rings can be resized once within six months of the purchase date at no charge. Additional resizing or enlargements may incur a fee.
- Annual service: We recommend an annual service. During this appointment we inspect your jewellery for wear, tighten loose diamonds, carry out minor repairs and perform a deep steam clean. Regular service can help prevent the loss of stones and is a requirement to maintain our lifetime manufacturing warranty.
- Pre‑wedding polish: Engagement rings are eligible for one complimentary polish up to six weeks before your wedding day.
Guidance on insurance: We encourage clients to insure their jewellery against loss, theft or damage beyond the scope of our warranty. Insurance cover is separate from this warranty and is arranged by you.Jewellery Care Guidelines
Fine jewellery should be treated with care.
To maintain its beauty and longevity, we recommend:
- Removing your ring during sport, gym sessions, gardening, housework or any hands‑on work. Jewellery should be the last thing you put on when leaving home and the first thing you remove when returning.
- Keeping your jewellery away from harsh chemicals, cleaning agents, swimming pools and hot tubs, as these can damage metal and stones.
- Booking an annual check‑up with our atelier so that a jeweller can verify that settings are secure. After cleaning and polishing, your ring will look as-new.
- Storing pieces separately to avoid scratching and tangling.
For additional guidance, consult our care guide.
